Work is continuing to clear surface water which has been affecting Wellington Airport's Instrument Landing System overnight. Further testing of equipment shows the systems are operating correctly, however the surface water on the airfield is disrupting signals being sent and received by systems.
Work is underway to clear as much of the water from the airfield as quickly as possible, so that full services can be resumed.
Airways technicians will remain at the airport overnight to continue testing and ensure the safe operation of the system as the surface water clears.
